Initially, I envisioned myself becoming a director. This all started when I was nine, during the peak of my Club Penguin phase when I started creating ‘music videos’ (like this and this). I eventually moved from digital penguin comedy skits to home videos with my friends, and video-based assignments at school became my favourite kind of homework.

I started my Communications degree thinking I would major in Film & Television. Somewhere along the way I realised that hauling a camera equipment around all day was more work than it was worth, and I could barely call myself a film enthusiast anyway (no, I still haven’t watched Blade Runner or Lord of the Rings.)

The learning experiences were definitely valuable though, and video-making will always remain tucked in my creative toolbelt!
